Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria is the largest Spanish bank in terms of balance sheet, size and earnings with total assets of Eur 300 billion and total equity in excess of 15 billion. BBVA is a leader in Spain with 20% market share in nearly all business lines and one of the major financial institutions in Latin America. BBVA is the result of the merger between Banco Bilbao Vizcaya and Argentaria that took place in 1999.

The Bank has a broad presence in 37 countries, basically in Europe and Latin America through an extensive network of 9000 branches. Apart from its major strengh in retail banking, BBVA enjoys a significant asset management and private banking business. In pension fund management, it is the leader in the domestic market and in Latin America.
